K. Restuccio || Knives|Brushes

Halloo! My name is Kurt Restuccio and I am currently an educator in the Pickerington school district, located just outside Columbus OH.  I have been teaching in the classroom for the past nine years.  My first two years, I had the great opportunity to hone my craft in the historical city of Cincinnati, working side by side with fantastic kids, who like myself in my younger years, were navigating their education with a learning disability. Opportunities arose and I rolled up 71 to try my hand in the art savvy capital of Columbus where I've worked with both at-risk youth and in-crisis students with Autism.  Currently, I am a member of both the Diley and Harmon middle school families.  My favorite part of teaching is turning "There's NO WAY I can do that!" into "I can't believe I did that!".

I'm a New York kid, who had a familial link to tOSU, loved the football and had an affinity for the state itself. I decided to attend Muskingum University for my undergrad/teacher licensure and I've been here ever since!

I've dabbled in many different media over the years but my first love is in the paint. There's just something about the energy that is created when paint and canvas (if you've got it) that grabs me every time. Oil, acrylic, water, knives, sticks, brushes, it doesn't matter much to me, I'll take it.  On one hand, I'm always trying to live up to my heroes; Caravaggio, Van Gogh, and Pollock.  While on the other hand searching for a way to break the mold like Chevrier, Viveros, and Craola Simkins.  As you'll see here, my teeny portfolio includes some other creations besides paint.  I hope you enjoy!
